Project Description
BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET MEDIA EYES | Birmingham, England
Breathtaking Sights
Colossal LED eyes welcome thousands of travelers daily with full-motion video and graphics at each of Birmingham’s Grand Central Station’s three entrances. One display integrates Mesh LED technology for a transparent effect that streams natural light through the Mesh display into the station, while high-quality visual content plays outside.
Getting from Point A to Point Z is now an eye-opening experience as the Birmingham New Street Train Station and Grand Central Shopping Centre keep an attentive gaze. The largest and busiest of Birmingham’s stations, New Street is a central hub of the British railway system, with eighty percent of train service to Birmingham going through the station. Above the station, Grand Central opened in 2015 after large-scale redevelopment of the depot that was once deemed an eyesore by Englanders.
Dazzling Displays
At each of Birmingham New Street Train Station’s three entrances, D3 installed colossal LED eye-shaped displays that welcome thousands of travelers daily with full-motion video and graphics. The displays are mounted over three entrances of the station. One of the displays integrates Mesh LED technology that provides a transparent effect, enabling natural light to shine through the display into the station, while high-quality visual content still plays.
These dazzling eye-shaped displays contribute an air of modernity to the renovated New Street Train Station. With virtually no seams to be seen, these stunning outdoor displays gather attention through their full-motion capabilities and striking visuals.
