ABC Studios’ LED Blue Ribbon: A Beacon That Beckons
From the latest headlines to promos and ads, the ABC SuperSign is the can’t-miss LED display in all of Times Square. At the corner of 44th and Broadway, the state-of-the-art display is a constantly changing marquee of news, images, and advertising viewed by 1.5 million visitors and New Yorkers every day.
An Icon of Interaction — Thanks to D3 Technology
Now interactive with viewers, the landmark marquee was installed in 1999 to herald the premiere of ABC News’s Good Morning America. As one of the most advanced digital displays in the world, the ABC SuperSign lets onlookers interact on the spot with on-screen content using text, Twitter, SMS, Flickr, customized apps, and more.
Concepted, engineered, and installed by D3, the ABC SuperSign has undergone two tech updates, including the most innovative LED advances ever created. D3® XVIEW® Exterior UHD LED Display XV10-SMD has 45,799,936 total pixels wrapped in a module radius curve of 3.5 feet. D3® AEPIMS™ Advanced Element Processor + Integrated Media Server Display Control System manages this display as well those on the GMA set, comprising 8-million+ pixels across myriad displays. We also integrated D3® TrueControl Display Manager web-based software to seamlessly deliver content.
