Glasgow CityScreen, the largest portrait digital screen in Glasgow, is located above Glasgow Central Station and faces north on the corner of Union Street and Gordon Street. With a range of over 600 metres the screen offers unrivaled impact and faces directly onto Renfield Street, the busiest street in Scotland and the main one-way artery that takes people through the city.
D3’s turnkey offering included the design, manufacture and installation of the display; the company tailored traditional structural and fabrication methods to deliver a completely unique solution. The display is comprised of 638 individual LED modules, which feature D3’s premium “Black Package” SMD (Surface Mount Diode) technology for superior image definition and maximised viewing angles.
Installed just in time for the 2014 Commonwealth Games that will bring millions of visitors to Glasgow, the display is capable of running still and animated advertising content, and campaigns can be time sensitive, carry live updates or run as a standard two-week campaign.
D3 partnered with the Scottish-based out-of-home media owner to fulfil their ongoing CityScreen network aspirations; CityScreen Glasgow is the third LED roadside billboard built for Forrest Media with two more digital displays in production and further high profile displays in major UK cities to be announced imminently.
