Sneak peek: Check out the new Studio 1A

From Today All Day

We're hard at work putting the finishing touches on our new home! The new Studio 1A will make its official debut on the show on Monday, Sept. 16.

It's been seven years since TODAY last revealed a new look for Studio 1A, and while the old studio served the team well, it was time for an update. Lead set designer Jeremy Conway and his crew were tasked with the revamp -- done in just 30 days.

The upgrades begin right at home base, where Matt and Savannah open the show each morning. The iconic space now has some new tricks, as it's able to rotate a full 360 degrees. The anchors can now begin their morning looking out the show's famous window on the world at the fans on the plaza. This is the new homebase-in-progress, sans the anchor desk. It sits on a turntable that can rotate 360 degrees, allowing the anchors to open the show looking out at the plaza crowd.

We're also adding a new kind of window on the world — a virtual window, in the form of our new Orange Room, where the digital and broadcast worlds meet.

Hosted by Carson Daly, the Orange Room will get viewers connected to the anchors and guests. The one-on-one interview area has played host to some of the biggest celebrities and news makers of our time, and features a warmer, updated look.
