The scoreboard was installed at the Evans Diamond baseball facility, home of the California Golden Bears, and made its official debut on May 10, 2013 after a record three-day installation time.

The new Cal scoreboard was produced under the A2D3 brand; the co-branded product line by Everbrite and D3 featuring the most technologically advanced scoreboard products available in the marketplace today for colleges, high schools and professional sporting venues.

The completed project included a 14 ft. x 25 ft. 16mm LED display, one 10 ft. x 38 ft. scoreboard, two 4 ft. x 19 ft. ad panels, two 14 ft. x 7 ft. ad panels, and one 4 ft. x 38 ft. ad panel. Additionally, a decorative steel truss with LED illuminated logo was created for Evans Diamond sponsor Chevrolet.

The scoreboard package for Evans Diamond included a fully integrated, custom Front-end Control System, with a video production suite that includes a four-camera, fourteen-channel, HD production system with live streaming at the touch of a button. Additional features include a state-of-the-art instant replay system, three high-definition cameras, and a custom graphics package with more than 500 high-definition animations and static images.

“UC Berkeley representatives were initially impressed with another A2D3 scoreboard we constructed for Raley Field in Sacramento, Calif., and they selected D3 for this project after visiting with us and seeing our commitment to quality and service,” said Ed Wehrenberg of D3.

Evans Diamond, which opened in 1933, is located in the UC Berkeley sports complex at the southwest corner of campus between George C. Edwards Stadium and Haas Pavilion.
